More opportunities exist for business ties with Jordan: Kazakh envoy

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)   Kazakh Ambassador to Jordan Azamat Berdybai on Sunday called upon the Jordanian companies willing to invest in the Republic of Kazakhstan to become competitive, saying businesses accessing the Kazakh market can be strong competitors.

Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the envoy said that the opening of the railway link, which will connect Kazakhstan with Iran, would open new horizons for trade with Jordan.

Berdybai stressed Kazakhstan's support to the Palestinian issue and the right of the Palestinians to establish their state, indicating that Kazakhstan was one of the first countries to open an embassy in Palestine after its independence following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

He said that over 23 years of independence, Kazakhstan has made many achievements and ushered in political and economic reforms as a result of which the country was placed 49th this year in the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business rankings.

The ambassador also said the former Soviet republic ranked 10th in terms of protecting investors. Similarly, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has ranked Kazakhstan 51st in its latest annual competitiveness rating of world economies, he added.
