Oman's Council of Ministers hails public celebrations to mark National Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Council of Ministers in a statement issued on Sunday has expressed appreciation for the love and gratitude for His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said showed in the form of  public rallies and celebrations.

The statement said that the public celebrations were organised by and participated in by people of all age groups which showed their sincere love and gratitude for the achievements brought about in the country under the prosperous reign of His Majesty the Sultan. The statement read as follows:

'The past weeks witnessed a series of celebrations and public marches by jubilant citizens who expressed deep delight and joy over His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's public appearance which coincided with the 44th National Day. The Council of Ministers would like to commend the exuberant sentiments which reflected the true value of the noble people and their centuries-old legacy.

'The manifestations of celebration have in fact portrayed a national tableau of patriotism a pageant which included all segments of society and all age groups as men women and children took to the streets to voice their heartfelt love for the country's monarch and the patron of its blessed Renaissance and to express their gratitude for achievements His Majesty the Sultan has brought about for Oman.

'The citizens have reaffirmed their firm determination to continue to safeguard the gains established in the realm of a society where harmony prevails. They prayed to the Almighty to protect His Majesty the Sultan grant him good health happiness and a long life and endow him with power to achieve further progress for Oman during this prosperous reign.

"The sultanate thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan has laid down solid foundations for relations with Arab and friendly countries. The Council of Ministers would like to thank neighbouring countries which participated in its celebrations and considers the initiatives as a gesture of the depth and strength of these relations.'

The Council of Ministers also congratulated the leadership and people of UAE on the occasion of UAE's National Day.
