Moroccan GCC 4th investment forum wraps up in Casablanca


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  The Moroccan GCC 4th investment forum which kicked off under the patronage of King Mohammed VI of Morocco and opened by Prime Minister Abdul-Ilah bin Keran at Casablanca Sheraton hotel last Friday, wrapped up in this Moroccan Atlantic city of Casablanca today.
The first session of the last day tackled the issue of GCC and Moroccan businesswomen during which Fitaiha Othman of the Moroccan Businesswomen Council cast light on ways of cooperation between the GCC and Moroccan businesswomen.
In the second session, the Chairman of the Saudi Moroccan Business Council Mohammed Fahd Al-Hammadi, who is also Chairman of the Agriculture and Food Security Committee of the Riyadh Chamber of Industry and Commerce, cast light on the role of the contracting sector in the Saudi national economy and the investment opportunities available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He cited that the construction sector is considered the second largest in Saudi Arabia following the petroleum sector and that the construction and contracting sector's size is expected to reach $300 billion in 2015.
The contracting companies represent 27% of the overall resisted companies in the Kingdom with assets worth $53.3 billion, he said adding that the size of government contracts in 2013 amounted to $41.9 billion and that the number of contractors registered in Saudi Arabia in 2013 amounted to 115,000 contractors.
