Putin confirms Russia's stable support for Palestinian rights


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Russian president Vladimir Putin on Saturday vowed continued support for Palestinians' legitimate rights to establish an independent state.

Putin said in a cable to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People he believed that Palestine's acquisition of national sovereignty based on international consensus will be an important factor in ensuring a comprehensive, just settlement in the Middle East." Putin stressed the constructive tone of Russian-Palestinian relations that further enhance their closeness.

"Russia intends to continue to provide all possible assistance to the Palestinian Authority in the establishment of state institutions and addressing the pressing social and economic problems facing it", he added.
