(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab foreign ministers agreed on a plan of an Arab move to end Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories in light of the extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers on Saturday.
The plan includes submitting an Arab draft resolution regarding ending officially the Israeli occupation to the Security Council and consulting with member states and other regional and international players to support Palestinian demands.
In the final statement at their extraordinary meeting attended by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, the ministers mandated an Arab ministerial delegation headed by Kuwait to take required measures to rally support for that Arab draft resolution at the Security Council.
The ministers supports endeavors of Palestine to join all international charters, institution, conventions and protocols as well as International Criminal Court.
The ministers underlined abidance by the Arab Peace Initiative launched by Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and approved at Beirut Summit 2002 as it is the best solution to Palestinian issue and resumption of peace negotiations, the statement said.
The ministers underscored the continuation of Arab joint action to guarantee international recognition of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital with the borders of June 4, 1967.
The ministers appreciated Sweden's historical decision that recognized a Palestinian state and recommendations of British Irish and Spanish Parliaments in this regard.
They also condemn all Israeli practices, including settlement activities in Jerusalem, against Palestinian people and its trails to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque and impose its control.
They welcomed the statements taken by Security Council's member states at the exceptional session that Jordan called for last October to discuss the consequences of Israeli decision regarding building new settlements in Jerusalem.
The Ministers stressed the continued Arab move in all capitals across the globe to support Palestinian demand submitted to Switzerland as it is the depositary State of the fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949 to call all parties to abide by these conventions in Palestine.
They emphasized the support of Palestinian government of national unity under the leadership of Mahmoud Abbas, expressing his gratitude to Egypt for its effort to reach a cease-fire agreement between Palestine and Israel last October.
They underlined the necessity of providing a fund of USD 100 million monthly to Palestinians to help them face all Israeli practices.
Ministers expressed its gratitude to the King of Jordan for his effort that stopped Israeli violations and aggressions as well as Morocco's king for their effort that serve Palestinian issue.
They underlined the necessity of dispatching a monitoring mission through UNESCO to be briefed on Israeli violations against Palestinians.
Meanwhile, an Arab League report said the escalating Israeli hostile policy has triggered suspension of peace negotiations with the Palestinians.
It said the Palestinian side has requested during the US-sponsored negotiations the cessation of settlements' construction, judaization of Al-Quds and the release of Palestinian prisoners to ultimately end the occupation of Palestinian lands.
The Israeli failure to abide by its obligations, like the release of the fourth batch of Palestinian prisoners, triggered halt of talks which forced the Arab countries seek a UNSC resolution to end the occupation, said the report.
The report called on the importance of rallying international support to end the Israeli occupation and stop the Israeli authorities from their attempts to change the reality on the ground in the Palestinian lands, Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
