European delegation visits Ramallah, Israel bans it from Gaza's visit


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) visited the West Bank city of Ramallah Saturday to get acqauinted with humanitarian conditions, but was banned by Israel from visiting Gaza.

The PACE members also met with members of the Palestine Legislative Council (PLC) who informed them about the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people through banning them from freedom of movement, destruction of their houses specially in Al-Quds and expansion of settlements.

Speaking to reporters, PLC member Khalda Jarrar said his colleagues informed the PACE delegation how it was important to continue with the Palestinian national reconciliation to achieve unity.

She said that PACE could help in supporting the Palestinian cause and end the Israeli occupation.

PLC member Qais Abdulkareem said the PACE delegation's visit reflected the European people's support of the Palestinian people.

The living conditions of the Palestinian people require an intensive international effort to end the Israeli occupation, said Abdulkareem.
