UAE- Naxalites in attempt to revive violent agenda in Telangana

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) THE OUTLAWED CPI (Maoists) in a bid to revive their activities in Telangana have called for an intensified struggle against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in the newly created state for allegedly pursuing anti-people agenda.

Accusing the state government of encouraging encounter killings harassing poor tribals and revolutionary organizations and spreading terror in the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border through heavy deployment of police forces the extremist party called upon the people to rebel against the devious designs of the ruling party.

In a three-page statement signed by its general-secretary Ganapathi it listed out the failures of TRS government since the formation of the new state in June this year and accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of behaving like a “dictator” by muzzling the voice of dissent and curbing the rights of the media and people’s organisations.

“The police attacks have increased in several Telangana districts. The government is spending millions of rupees on modernisation of its police force only to suppress the people’s movements. In the garb of heightened threat perception it has spent Rs1 billion to procure bullet-proof vehicles to the ministers” the statement said.

The top Maoist leader’s warning comes against the backdrop of growing fears in some quarters that the naxalite outfit will make desperate attempts to revive its violent agenda in the new state.

Telangana region comprising ten districts was once a hotbed of naxalite activities so much so that the ultra left extremist units were in a position to run parallel administration in their bastions. -newskhaleejtimes.com
