“He’s in good form” commented the Red Stables handler Doug Watson who’ trains the horse on behalf of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai. “Jutland is also good on turf at Meydan and hopefully he can make his mark during the Carnival” he added. And while Watson did not speak about any specific plan for the horse he noted that Jutland could be targeting Jebel Ali Stakes the first of three highlights of the venue over same course and distance.

Public favourite Farrier (Satish Seemar/Richard Mullen) chased the winner home to lose by three quarters of a length and Izaaj (Ahmed bin Harmash/ Royston Ffrench) was nine lengths behind in third place. It was a quick double for the Watson-Dobbs partnership in the CBD TB Maiden fourth race on the card when debutant Faulkner came from nowhere to upset the 10-runner field to storm home unchallenged.

He was in good shape and we have been working with him very softly. It’s great to see him winning on UAE debut and first time on dirt for Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum” he said. In the second race Al Shafar Investment 1950m TB Handicap top weight Maqaraat was patiently ridden by Dane O’Neill to attack the leading group in the concluding stages to do the better work over early leader Double Pass.
