UAE- Organic foodies gather at Sharjahs Ripe Food and Craft Market


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) All kind of vegetables and fruits including kiwis sweet potatoes apples and products like organic sausages and cheese were put up for sale.

Sharjah -The second edition of the Ripe Food and Craft Market returned to Sharjah for a second season on Saturday at Al Majaz Waterfront.

The market opened to much fanfare with over 200 organic ‘foodies’ who gathered outside Majaz Waterfront on Saturday morning. A majority of the products being sold were locally grown while others were imported internationally.



Fresh fruits dairy products organic vegetables and meats were among some of the more popular products on sale. All kind of vegetables and fruits including kiwis sweet potatoes apples and products like organic sausages and cheese were put up for sale. Freshly squeezed fruit juices also garnered a lot of attention.



“The vendors put up these ‘family packs’ for sale which consisted of some bread fruits and vegetables. It was also sold at a pretty reasonable price” said a visitor at the event. The family packs were being sold for Dh34 to 40. Growers from organic farms in Abu Dhabi organised the event and will continue it for a second edition next Saturday based on sales on Saturday.



The market included products from a range of local artists designers craftsmen jewellers and musicians and was open from 9am to 2pm.
