China's service trade deficit drops in October


(MENAFN) Data from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) showed that China's foreign service trade deficit dropped in October after rising for four straight months, QNA reported.

The world's second-largest economy's service trade deficit shrank to USD17.2 billion in the previous month, down from USD21.66 billion in September, according to China's (Xinhua) News Agency.

Tourism contributed 42.4 percent of the total deficit, followed by transport and other commercial services. In October, China spent a total of USD29.56 billion in international service trade, outweighing the USD12.36 billion gained.

In the January-September period of the year, the aggregate service trade deficit totaled USD134.21 billion, with USD171.02 billion in revenues and USD304.59 billion in spending.
