(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A large bevy of ambassadors have congratulated Kuwait on the honor bestowed on His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by the IOM for his humanitarian support of displaced and distressed people everywhere, said a Kuwaiti official on Wednesday.
In remarks to KUNA, Kuwait's permanent representative to the UN ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim said it was a great honor that the diplomatic corps here, and before that the humanitarian organizations, have extoled profusely His Highness the Kuwaiti Amir and his country for their role in helping humanity all across the globe.
This recent honor by the IOM is the first of its kind to be conferred on a world leader, said the ambassador referencing yesterday's step by the IOM to honor the Kuwaiti leader for his indefatigable support of people distressed and displaced by wars and natural catastrophes.
Last September 9, the UN had conferred the title of Leader of Humanity on His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the title of Center of Humanity on the state of Kuwait.
