Brush Hills "Christmas in Newport" Tour Offered Four Sundays Only

Brush Hill Transportation Company and Gray Line of Boston (www.brushhilltours.com) a family-owned independent transportation company specializing in charter and sightseeing transportation for the region celebrates the holiday season with its limited “Christmas in Newport” tour.  This tour will only be offered four times:  Sunday November 30; Sunday December 7; Sunday December 14; and Sunday December 21.  All buses depart at 9:30 a.m.

 

This Gray Line tour of one of the top 10 most beautiful places during the holiday season will feature stops at The Breakers a 70-room mansion on 11 acres of oceanfront land and Marble House William K. Vanderbilt’s summer home comprised of 500000 cubic feet of white marble.  Both houses are National Historic Landmarks and icons of the Gilded Age in America and will be filled with thousands of poinsettias fresh flowers and evergreens as well as several Christmas trees decorated to reflect individual room décor.  Gingerbread replicas of many of Newport’s mansions will also be displayed in the kitchen of The Breakers; a working garden-scale model of the Vanderbilt family’s New York Central Railroad will be on display in the second floor loggia.

 

Time will also be allotted for individual lunch and shopping around the beautiful waterfront area.  Before returning to Boston the coach will travel along the 10-mile-long Ocean Drive featuring spectacular views of additional mansions and coves.

Anzuoni Sr. delegated his son Larry to take control of the commuter line. It originally offered a mode of transportation to domestics employed by the large estates on Brush Hill Road in Milton Mass. The company also provided transit service on two commuter lines.  Brush Hill’s charter business began to grow and soon had many prominent businesses schools senior recreation departments and individual clients on board.
