Abu Dhabi Int'l passenger traffic up 17 percent in October


(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi International Airport announced that it registered an increase by 17 percent in its passenger in October, Arabian Business reported.

The airport said that it has registered a total of 1.689.983 passengers passing through Abu Dhabi International Airport last month, compared with 1.439.356 during the same month last year.

In October, the top five routes from Abu Dhabi International Airport were Bangkok, Doha, London Heathrow, Manila, and Bahrain, which in total accounted for 17 percent of all traffic through the airport.

Meanwhile, cargo activity in increased by 16 percent in October, with 72.170 tons being handled at the airport's three terminals, compared with October last year.

"Abu Dhabi International Airport continued to see double digit growth in passenger numbers in October. The airport will continue to invest in enhancing its services and connectivity to attract more traffic to the capital," Chief Operations Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports said.
