Oman, Iran aim to boost ties in economic, political fields


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Manthri chairman of the State Council received Wahid Ahmadi head of foreign relations committee of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee at Shura Council in Iran and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday.

Dr Manthri welcomed the guests and said that the visit shows the depth of the ties and historical relations between the two countries. He commended the role of the leaders of the two nations in promoting cooperation and initiating new avenues of cooperation.

He also said that in this regard the sultanate had hosted three rounds of nuclear talks between Iran US and the European Union which categorically reflects the confidence in the sultanate by Iran and the international community.

Wahid Ahmadi congratulated Oman on its 44th National Day prayed for the well-being of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and wished him good health. He hailed the sultanate's stance especially in international forums its role in solving the crisis over Iranian nuclear issue and enhancing joint economic cooperation between the two countries in various areas.

He added 'We look forward to greater prosperity and development between the two countries to achieve success in all economic political security and parliamentary fields.'

The meeting was also attended by vice chairman secretary general and other members of the council and H E Ali Akbar Sibawaih Iranian Ambassador to the sultanate.
