(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) A cargo ship carrying between 500 and 700 migrants is adrift in rough seas off the southeast coast of Crete, dpa quoted the Greek coast guard as saying on Tuesday.
In a statement, the coast guard said they were sending five ships, including a navy vessel, to the area where the 77-metre-long cargo vessel was stranded due to mechanical failure, approximately 30 nautical miles south east of the island.
Details of the migrants' nationalities was not immediately clear.
