Russia Keen on Stronger Ties with Vietnam

(MENAFN- QNA) Russia is keen on deepening foreign policy coordination with Vietnam as the two countries share "almost identical" views about many issues, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

"Relations between Russia and Vietnam have seen dynamic development. We maintain relations at a high political level," Putin was quoted as saying by Tass news agency at the meeting with the Vietnamese official.

"Reciprocal trade grew by almost 9 percent last year while Russian investments (in Vietnam) have reached $9 billion," Putin said adding that Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Russia would give an additional push to bilateral ties.
