Kuwait- Girl Caught Drunk


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Two Arab nationals were apprehended by antinarcotics officers in possession of 2kg of ice, 60g of heroin, 60g of hashish, 5g of opium, and 18 illicit tablets. They were referred to Drug Prosecution. Meanwhile, officers from Jahra apprehended two Asians at a security checkpoint with 100 bottles of local liquor ready for sale.

They were handed over to concerned authorities. Also, Jahra security operatives arrested a Kuwaiti girl with two Jordanian youths under the influence of liquor and in possession of hashish and drug consuming tools, and three other citizens were apprehended with drug paraphernalia. They were all referred to relevant authorities.

18 tons spoilt food destroyed

The Kuwait Municipality has announced that an emergency team affiliated to the municipality branch in Capital Governorate has been monitoring foodstuff storage facilities and conducted raids a few days ago with the help of security forces. The raids resulted in the destruction of 18 tons and 98 kilograms of expired foodstuff which could harm public health. A statement issued by the municipality's Public Relations Department revealed the store where expired food items were found will be closed.

It also called on the control and inspection departments to perform their duties effectively in order to protect the public from unscrupulous traders. The department also urged the public to avoid buying foodstuff from unknown sources and to call the municipality hotline number 139 to report distribution of expired foodstuff or any related issue.
