Kuwait- 'Wasta' Fails To Save Neck Of 3 Officers In Vanishing Liquor


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Public Prosecution condemned three highranked police officers for their negligence in the disappearance of 10,000 bottles of alcohol from the ministry stores before they were destroyed, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources. They revealed that the Public Prosecution has charged three senior officers of negligence and demanded to hold them accountable for the theft, despite the attempts made by the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadhi for covering up the issue.

Pilot in drugs: Farwaniya police arrested a retired pilot of Kuwait Airways Corporation for consuming and possessing drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The retired pilot was seized at a security check point after securitymen noticed his disoriented state and found three sachets of cocaine, a sachet of heroin and four narcotic tablets in his possession.

Police car hit: A Kuwaiti youth was arrested for damaging a police vehicle and possessing sharp objects and drug-consuming tools, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a security source, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior Ministry received information about a disoriented individual in Faiha, securitymen rushed to the location and checked records of an individual who had parked his vehicle under the car shed of a Kuwaiti family. Securitymen discovered that the youth was wanted for a felony related to drugs, and demanded him to get in the police car. However, he ignored the order and drove off in his car. Securitymen chased the youth until he crashed into the police vehicle and was forced to stop after hitting a pavement. Police found a knife, a sharp blade, a hammer and drug-consuming tools from the suspect's vehicle. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for investigations.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen in his 40s was arrested for possessing firearms and damaging a police vehicle, reports Al- Shahed daily. According to a security source, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling on Wafra Road when they were stopped by a citizen who told them about a shooting in the area. Securitymen rushed to the location and were surprised when an individual crashed his car several times into the police vehicle and then attempted to escape. They caught him and found a Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol and a substance believed to be drugs in his possession. The citizen appeared disoriented at the time of arrest.
