Egypt's TE net profit drop 25 percent in 9M


(MENAFN) Telecom Egypt (TE) announced it has recorded a decline in its net profit by 25.3 percent during the January-September period of this year registering a profit of USD250.01 million compared with USD334.68 million in the same period last year, Daily News Egypt reported.

The telecommunications company said that the decline in its net profit happened despite an increase in the company's revenues during the first three quarters of 2014, reaching USD1.29 billion compared to USD1.15 billion during the same period in 2013.

Meanwhile, the company's revenues from ADSL services totaled USD195.23 million during the first nine months of 2014, while the number of TE Data internet services customers expanded by 1.93 million by the end of September.

Telecom Egypt also said that it has registered a profit of USD35 million during the July-September period, compared with USD90.64 million during the same period last year, accumulating in drop by 61.4 percent.
