Jordan participates in MEADFA

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)  Jordan is participating in the Middle East and Africa Conference 2014 , which kicked off Monday in Dubai with the participation of around 600 delegates representing multinational and regional companies, arriving from more than 56 countries across the globe.

The CEO of Jordanian Duty Free Haitham Al-Majali told Petra that he will deliver a speech at the conference focusing on challenges and opportunities in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon's duty free space.

Majali highlighted the importance of the conference, which brings together a number of duty free managers in the Middle East to discuss the latest developments in this vital sector.

The meeting will also explore how Middle Eastern airport retailers can draw inspiration from the latest commercial concepts and sales techniques in domestic markets around the world.

The two-day conference will also feature a debate on Africa, including an analysis of customer profiles and expectations plus expert insight from retailers and brands.

This year, delegates will also have access to enhanced digital tools, enabling them to participate in real-time voting and to raise questions and comments directly to the moderators and panelists.

MEADFA became an officially recognized entity within the global duty free and travel retail business in May 2001.

Founded by nine of the leading travel retail organizations of the Middle East, the actual membership of MEADFA now stands at 35.

Located in the Dubai Airport Free Zone as a non-profit organization, MEADFA was set up to foster unity in the region's duty free industry.

MEADFA aims to bring official recognition to the region's duty free industry, to raise awareness of the industry's contribution to the greater travel and tourism industry infrastructure, and to provide representation for its member companies.

MEADFA's main objectives are to encourage closer links between retailers and brand suppliers in the Middle East in order to facilitate the growth of the industry in this region and to organise seminars, conferences, and training programs related to the regional duty free retail industry.

Another key objective of the association is to encourage positive working dynamics between retail members and their brand suppliers.
