Italian Doctor Infected with Ebola Flies to Rome for Treatment


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  An Italian doctor working in Sierra Leone contracted the Ebola virus and is being flown to Rome for treatment, the country's health ministry announced Monday.
The doctor, who tested positive for the deadly virus while working for the Emergency aid organisation, is Italy's first confirmed Ebola case, dpa reported.
Government and military officials organized the doctor's transport, which is slated to arrive in Rome late Monday. All measures were being taken to ensure safety during the trip, the health ministry added.
