Iran's gas output to double in three years


(MENAFN) According to a senior Iranian official, the country's annual gas production is set to double in the next three years, with plans to increase the output to 330 billion cubic meters (bcm), Iran Daily reported.

Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said that the gas industry needs investment worth USD62 billion for carrying out new infrastructure projects.

The Persian country, the world's largest natural gas reservoir, is working on four new phases of the giant South Pars Gas Field that will produce 100 mcm per day, the official said.
