Kuwait- Verdict upheld

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Court of Appeals presided over by Justice Nasr Al Heyd upheld the verdict of the First Instance Court that acquitted four security training officers of assault charges filed by a cadet (plaintiff) studying at Saad Al-Abdullah Academy of Security Sciences.

The case files indicated the cadet went late to his early morning classes on that fateful day and when he explained to the first three suspects that he was sick they were not convinced and started beating and insulting him.

A week later, the cadet went and reported to the fourth suspect who is a senior training officer. The officer instead pushed the cadet to his fall and broke his hand. Representing the accused, lawyer Abdullah Al-Kandari pleaded the plaintiff delayed to file a case, and cited inconsistency in his statement, aside from the fact that the prosecution team did not provide substantial evidences to support the claim.
