Bahrain's Polytechnic, Microsoft sign software agreement

(MENAFN) Bahrain Polytechnic announced it has signed a Volume Licensing Enrolment for Education Solutions (EES) agreement with Microsoft, which will enable the institution to acquire Microsoft software in a cost-effective way, Gulf Daily News reported.

Polytechnic said that this deal is expected to improve the institution's functionality in many ways, which include freeing the information technology (IT) directorate's team from time-consuming and costly maintenance, thus giving them more time to concentrate on other fundamental tasks.

The institute said that Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, which are part of the EES agreement, will be utilized to address IT management issues as well as delivering educational services.

"We essentially wanted a turn-key platform that would deliver easy management, always-on availability and could meet the growing storage needs to cope with the exponential increase in mailboxes without difficulty," Polytechnic Information & Communications Technology Services Director said.
