Qatar beats Oman 3-1 in Gulf Cup semifinals in Riyadh


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Qatar National football team defeated Oman 3-1 in their semifinals match of the 22nd Gulf Cup at King Fahad International Stadium in the Saudi capital on Sunday.

In the first half, Omani player Raed Ibrahim scored his country's first goals with a powerful shot at minute 23. The Qatari team was granted a penalty kick at minute 35 due to a tackle by Omani goalkeeper to Qatari attacker, scoring the tie by Hasan Al-Haidous.

In the second half, the Qataris pressured the Omani team by constant attacks, scoring their second goals at minute 60 by Ali Assad, who also scored the third for his team at minute 67.

Meanwhile, Qatar is due to play the final match next Wednesday November 26 at King Fahad Stadium against the winner of Saudi Arabia vs. UAE semifinal match, to be held later today.
