Five people killed, 16 missing in Morocco's floods


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Five people were killed and 16 were missing as heavy floods struck the southern Guelmim region and central Huz province, the interior ministry said Sunday.

It added in a statement four of the dead could not resist the floods while the fifth died of wounds he sustained when a roof house collapsed over him.

Search and rescue operations for the missing people are continuing, it added.

Heavy rain fall triggered the floods that destroyed 83 houses. Rescue teams were battling weather conditions to save people trapped by floods.
