(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Islamic Insurance Company (QIIC) was awarded the "Family Takaful Company of the Year" and "General Takaful Company of the Year" at the 1st Middle East Insurance Industry Awards 2014 held recently in Dubai, said a press statement yesterday.
The awards were received by Jamal Abdullah Al Jamal, Board Member, on behalf of Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in the ceremony attended by a large number of insurance executives of the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
Jamal said: "It is a proud moment not only for Qatar Islamic Insurance but for the State of Qatar as a whole since we are the only Qatari company among the winners in fourteen categories". He added: "These awards shall act as a catalyst to help improve and spread our services to our varied client base and shall help raise the industry standards".
The selection was made by a judging panel of 25 prominent local and international insurance professionals on the basis of the most constructive, efficient and effective Shariah-compliant products and quality services to meet the financial risks faced by individuals, families and businesses. Qatar Islamic Insurance is the only double winner in the competition.
