India's refiners pay USD400m to Iran


(MENAFN) Indian refiners paid USD400 million to Iran ahead of a Nov. 24 deadline of the interim deal with six world powers that allows Tehran to recover part of its overseas frozen oil revenues, Iran Daily reported.

Last week, Essar Oil paid USD201 million, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd about USD154 million, Indian Oil Corp. about USD42 million and Hindustan Petroleum about USD3 million.

India has so far paid USD1.3 billion to Iran in three installments under the interim deal, which granted it access to USD2.8 billion of its funds held in foreign banks in addition to USD4.2 billion paid in the January-July period.
