Dubai — To mark the 43rd UAE National Day malls across the nation of the Majid Al Futtaim group flagged off three weeks of celebrations.

Six malls across the country in different Emirates — City Centres in Dubai Sharjah Fujairah and Ajman will host cultural and arts-themed events that showcase the UAE’s proud heritage in addition to fun family activities to unite everyone in spirit.

“UAE National Day is a time to reflect upon the great achievements of the nation” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf senior director – Property Development Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim. “Families friends and visitors are all encouraged to visit our malls and experience many great moments as we embrace the Spirit of the Union.”

The UAE’s thriving arts culture is a major theme this year with a unique community-driven arts initiative called the ‘Art of C’ that aims to showcase the artistic talents of the UAE’s own artists while celebrating the nation’s anniversary. Starting November 20 City Centre malls across the UAE have started displaying a total of 43 large C-shaped canvases — representing the iconic City Centre logo creating a public art studio.

Every day until December 1 emerging and professional artists from across Dubai and artists from the Emirates Fine Arts Society for the Northern Emirates have been invited to decorate the Cs in a live arts workshop telling a story of the UAE’s rich heritage using a variety of mediums including oil paints spray paint and calligraphy.

The final unique pieces of work will be on full display for National Day across all five malls to create a visually stunning arts gallery until December 6 at City Centres in Dubai and creating a longer presence at City Centres in the Northern Emirates until December 31.

Kids can also participate in the Art of C experience as City Centres will be hosting a dedicated arts and crafts area where the little ones can express their love of the UAE by decorating their own C-shaped cutouts.
