'Proud Of Kuwait Performance': Sheikh Athbi


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Chairman of the Rally's and Motocross Organizing Committee at Sheikh Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah Club Sheikh Athbi Al-Nayef Al-Jaber Al-Sabah expressed pride of the club contestants who have performed remarkably in the second round of Qatar motocross championship which concluded late on Friday.

The Kuwaiti rider Mohamed Jaafar won the first place in the (MX1) 450cc category with 100 points in the first and the second rounds, while Muaath Al-Ansari also came in the first place in the (MX2) 250cc category with 87 points in the first and the second rounds, and Abdullah Al-Shatti in the second place for the same category, Sheikh Athbi Al-Nayef told KUNA on Saturday.

The Kuwaiti racers reflected through their performance strong technical abilities as required in this tournament, which was held with the participation of the best racers in the region; highly skilled and experienced in motorcycle competitions, he added.

Sheikh Athbi renewed confidence in all racers of Basil Al-Sabah club, noting that he was looking forward to see them achieve the best results in various future tournaments at all levels.

The second round of the tournament has been held at the Losail circuit under supervision of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation.

In related story, the second version of the Motocross Championship which concluded at Basil Salem Al-Sabah's circuit, late on Friday, had witnessed strong competition among elite racers.

Some 42 contestants took part in this competition who were divided into four categories; 4 and 6 Cylinder Front Drive, 4 and 6 Cylinder RWD, 4 wheelers and the V 8-10-12 amid competition marked by enthusiasm and strength between the various participants.

Ccontestant Faisal Al-Shuwaei snatched the title for category 4 and 6 Cylinder Front Drive, Ahmad Al-Kanderi won the 4 and 6 Cylinder RWD, whereas Messier Bushaibah snatched the title for the 8 Cylinder category.

Chairman of the circuits and speed committee at the club Sheikh Mohammed Al-Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah praised in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) the level of the Kuwaiti contestants in the tournament that reflected their technical capabilities that would qualify them to compete in various regional and international tournaments.

He added that the results of the tournament, held for the second time, kept up with expectations, adding that the organization of this tournament was held at a professional level.
