Kuwait- Fake Accounts Of MPs Used To Spread Hatred, Tension


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Cyber Crime Department has launched investigations to identify the individuals, believed to be affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood Group, who created accounts on social networking websites under the names of Kuwaiti lawmakers with the aim of tarnishing their reputation and negatively impacting their popularity, reports Al- Shahed daily quoting security sources.

They said these individuals created several accounts under the MPs' names during the last phase to confuse the MPs and provoke chaos in the National Assembly. The sources explained that the detectives from the department discovered from the preliminary investigations they carried out that these accounts are managed from the outside and in an orderly fashion with the aim of creating a bad image of the MPs, and the work of the legislative authority.

The Muslim Brotherhood Group have created more than four fake personal accounts under the names of the members of the National Assembly, most recent of which is under the name of MP Hamad Al-Harshani who has denied knowledge of this account which has been broadcasting false news and information about him.

They revealed that another account was created in the name of MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji from which the culprits posted controversial statements, which made the lawmaker file a complaint against the manager of the account.

The sources stressed that the Muslim Brotherhood Group is constantly striving to harm the stability of the country in an attempt to stir up hatred and political tension at this stage.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Livestock Transport and Trading Company launched a new promotional drive in which 10 winners will receive an Australian sheep per head in a monthly draw, noting the campaign will continue for one month starting Nov 16 until Dec 19, reports Al-Anba daily.

Customers will receive a voucher for each KD10 spent on freshly slaughtered meat daily to enter a draw and offer will be available in all stalls of the company at co-op societies, as well as the main depot in Shuwaikh.

The draw will take place under the supervision of representatives from the Ministry of Commerce on Dec 21 at the company's depot in Shuwaikh, urging the general public to call 1888822 for inquiries.
