(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A Saudi national who was released from the US Guantanamon detention facility in Cuba has returned home, the Interior Ministry announced Saturday.
The return of Ouda Mohammad Al-Zahrani is part of efforts to bring home all Saudi citizens locked behind bars abroad, a ministry statement said.
It added that Al-Zahrani returned home today morning and his family were informed of his arrival to arrange a meeting.
He will be subjected to a rehabilitation program, noted the ministry.
The US Defense Department announced that Al-Zahrani did not pose a threat to the US and would be released from jail following 12 years in detention.
