Bahrain's parliamentary electoins turnout 51.5 pct - Min.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turnout in Bahrain's Saturday parliamentary elections has reached 51.5 percent, Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs said.

Sheikh Khaled bin Ali Al-Khalifa said voting was extended for two hours, describing the election process as a "great success." At a news conference following the closure of ballot boxes, Sheikh Khaled said voting was smooth and the counting was underway.

He affirmed that the elections were monitored by judges and local NGOs.
