UN supports Kenya in face of terrorism


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The United Nations has pledged to continue supporting Kenya and other African countries in their multi-dimensional efforts to address the scourge of terrorism, the UN chief said.

The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, condemned, in a statement released by his press office late on Saturday, the terrorist attack that took place on a commuter bus in Mandera, Kenya. The attack killed at least 28 people.

Ban conveyed his profound condolences to families of the victims and expressed his solidarity with the people and the Government of Kenya.

He hoped those responsible for the attack will be brought to justice swiftly, the statement concluded.
