US, Germany in talks with Iran to close "big" gaps on nuclear deal

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier joined
his Iranian and US counterparts Saturday in Vienna to try to close
the few, but significant, gaps on a deal that would end the
long-standing conflict about Iran's nuclear programme, dpa.

'We hope we are making careful progress. But we have big
gaps,' US Secretary of State John Kerry said.

Iran has been negotiating with Britain, China, France, Russia, the
United States and Germany with the aim of coming to an agreement by a
Monday deadline that would end Iran's international isolation by
lifting sanctions in return for a significant reduction in the
country's nuclear activities.
