Reem Riviera Saudi Binladen Arabian Woodworks post wins In ALBAIK netfest
(MENAFN- Arab News) Reem Riviera clawed its way from two sets down to pull even at 2-2 after four sets and register its first win via points 26-21 against Uncle Sam in the LMX Category.
In category C Saudi Binladen (SBG-RPDTC) Team 2 stamped its class against Arabian Woodworks-1 with a 3-1 victory over at court #4 while Arabian Woodworks won a cliffhanger against Diyar via points 2(24)-2(23) in another category LMX encounter the 6th ALBAIK Tennis Challenge 2014 went full swing at the Trio-Ranch Country Club courts.
It was a poor start for Reem Riviera as Robert and Waleed Batestil lost 3-8 to Kerwin and Vic of Uncle Sam in the first set then Regil and Roger lost the tie-break 7-8 to Allan and Robi in the second set to register a precarious 0-2 disadvantage. It was in the third set that tables were turned as Roel and Mel won 8-3 over Jun and Sam to breathe life to Reem Riviera as the score stood at 1-2. Then at set four Vher and team captain Ronnie Organo combined to pummel Julius Garcia and Cizzner Carrascal 8-2 to tie the set scores at 2-2 and claim victory via points 26-21 for Reem Riviera Resort-Uricane.
Saudi Binladen Group (SBG-RPDTC) team 2 dropped the first set as Joseph and Ernie lost 5-8 to Arabian Woodworks Michael Abadies and Jorge Luyon. But this did not deter their game as Jhun and Leo scored a punishing 8-1 win against Johnver and Jim Morales to even up the score at 1-1. This fired up the third set pair of Pepe and Wendell to blank Charlie and Lyndon 8-0 and gain the upper hand in the match at 2-1. Sensing victory Lito and Mario went for the jugular to score an 8-2 win over Kennedy and Emong and finish the match at 3-1 for SBG-RPDTC.
Moving on to another LMX category match Arabian Woodworks escaped defeat as its fourth set pair of Allan Bandilao and Leo Reconilla won the set and limited Diyar's Junior S. and Lito S. to only four points to post a final score of 2-2 (24-23). First set was taken by Diyar with Erik and Cats Catalan winning 8-3 against Ron Valdez and Al Arib Sur. This was countered in the second set by Arabian Woodworks' Joo Dinisio and Jun Gok Ong's 8-3 conquest of Jef Z. and Ramon F. Third set was taken by Diyar's Ricky S. and Ryan T. 8-5 over Aldwin Toston and Nestor Pandac.
