Kuwait nabs 10 medals, including gold, on day six of Asian Beach Games


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's Ahmad Gholoum won gold while Mishari Soroor took silver in the shot put as Abdullah Al-Fadhel nabbed a silver and two bronze medals across jetski events that also saw Yousef Abdulrazzaq take a silver at the Asian Beach Games on Wednesday.

Gholoum snatched the gold with a distance of 18.69m, with Soroor trailing by only 0.02m.

Meanwhile, in jetski events Abdullah Al-Fadhel took silver in the R/A 1000 Superstock event, and two bronze medals in both the Sport GP and R/A Stock events, with his teammate Yousef Abdulrazzaq taking silver in the R/A Open (Mixed Runabout Open).

The results increase Kuwait's overall tally to 10 medals (one gold, 4 silver, five bronze).

Later, Kuwait jetski team chief Sheikha Mashael Duaij Al-Sabah and Kuwait athletics team official Bader Al-Rushood praised the winners for their efforts.

Sheikha Mashael, referring particularly to the jetskiers, said that the Kuwaitis showed "perseverance and great spirit" across the four days of competition in various watersport categories, despite technical difficulties they had faced.

Kuwait participates in the tournament, which is organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), with 90 athletes and staff representing eight games, which are beach football, beach handball, beach athletics, water polo, jujitsu, flag football, paragliding, and jetski.
