Kuwait- Youth minister inaugurates new swimming pool complex


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah inaugurated Wednesday a newly-constructed swimming pool complex of Olympic standards at Sulaibikhat Sports Club.

After touring the sports facility, Sheikh Salman, also Information Minister, hailed the complex's facilities as "distinctive," in a statement to reporters Providing sports facilities for the youth is one of Kuwait's keen interests and comes under the directions of the political leadership to improve sports in Kuwait, he affirmed.

The Kuwaiti minister also lauded efforts exerted by the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) in achieving the project in 24 months, expressing hope for the further accomplishments of such crucial projects in the upcoming stage.

The 5,692-capacity complex consists of a main pool, a training pool, an Olympic-sized diving pool, indoor trampoline parks, a referees room, a main lobby for guests, digital display electronic boards, administrative offices, and other various facilities, PAYS' deputy director-general for construction and maintenance affairs Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah told reporters.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by PAYS Chairman Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, President of Sulaibikhat SC Mohammad Al-Hajeri, and PAYS and Sulaibikhat SC officials and staff.
