UN Urges Yemen to Probe Rights Abuses
(MENAFN- QNA) United Nations has demanded competent authorities in Yemen to quickly investigate recent human rights abuses.
A statement issued by the United Nations Office for Human Rights in Yemen said the need for impartial and independent bodies to investigate the violations and ensure victims' rights to justice and reparation.
The UN office expressed deep concern on the lack of accountability for human rights violations, particularly in recent months.
It urged all parties involved in the recent violence in the south Yemen to ensure immediate access to humanitarian aid in conflict-affected areas, especially the provinces of Shabwah and Al Bayda.
Yemen has recently seen a rise in armed clashes between Al Houthi group and army backed by tribal groups in Sadah and Amran.
