Keeper at British zoo seriously injured by rhino

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  A keeper at Britain's largest zoo was being treated at a hospital Wednesday after he was seriously injured in an incident involving a rhino, according to AP.
Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire, north of London, said emergency services were called after one of its keepers was injured Wednesday morning. Ambulance officials said the man, in his 50s, received injuries to the chest, abdomen and pelvis, and that he was rushed to a hospital.
The zoo said it was investigating what happened during the incident, which took place in an enclosure where five greater one-horned rhinos are kept.
David Field, director at the Zoological Society of London, which runs the zoo, said the keeper was out of surgery and in a stable condition later Wednesday.
Air ambulance officials said the keeper was found in a pool of water, and paramedics had sought to keep him warm as his body temperature dropped significantly.
