Egypt Welcomes Saudi Monarch's Call for Arab Unity


(MENAFN- QNA) Egypt has "greatly welcomed" Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's statement on Wednesday, in which he announced the Riyadh agreement that calls for Arab unity and "developing a comprehensive framework for unity, harmony and renouncing dispute in the face of the challenges facing the Arab and Islamic nations." Egypt said it has complete confidence in the wisdom and vision of the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and appreciates his tireless efforts for the benefit of the Arab and Islamic nations as well as his supportive stances for Egypt and its people.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, Cairo expressed its "full responsiveness with this sincere invitation, which constitutes a big step towards Arab solidarity." The statement added that Egypt is confident opinion, thought and media leaders will take a positive, serious and constructive path to support and enhance the agreement and provide the appropriate atmosphere for healing the rift and renounce division. "The criticality of this stage requires all of us to give priority to unity and sincere work with a common vision," the statement added.
