China Sends Peacekeeping Force to South Sudan


(MENAFN- QNA) A Chinese team of 100 military and medical staff left for South Sudan on Tuesday night on a peacekeeping mission.

The total team of 331 will conduct an eight-month mission in the African nation. Another two teams will leave on November 23 and 27, according to a military statement carried by Chinese news agency (Xinhua).

They will mainly assume tasks of building and maintaining roads, bridges, airports, water and power facilities as well as destroying weapons and ammunition in the city of Wau, according to the statement.
