Qatar Airways adds extra flights to Edinburgh service

(MENAFN) Qatar Airways announced launching a daily direct flight to the Edinburgh, the Scottish capital from Doha's Hamad International Airport, starting May 1, 2015, thus increasing the number of flights in its service from the current five times a week, Gulf Business reported.

The carrier said that the daily service, which will be operated by a Boeing, is expected to give passengers greater access to a large number of destinations, especially in light with the route's popularity among travelers from Asia and Australia.

Edinburgh is Qatar Airways' third destination in the UK, with the carrier operating six flights a day to London, as well as operating 10 flights per week to Manchester.

"Offering a daily service to Edinburgh is a clear reflection of the popularity of this route since its launch in May this year and the new daily service will allow Qatar Airways to further support and promote Scotland's leisure and business opportunities to different markets on our airline's global network," CEO of Qatar Airways Group said.
