Qatar pleased with FIFA ethic cmte report on World Cup '22


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))  Qatari Higher Committee for projects and national Heritage expressed comfort on Tuesday after the report by the German judge Hans-Joachim Eckert in relation to investigations of Qatar hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The committee said, in a statement, that they are satisfied with the result reached by Judge Eckert and the judicial chamber, an offshoot of FIFA ethics committee.

The higher committee noted that the report concluded that they have fully cooperated with the investigation and "we were always confident" of their stand and commitment to uphold the highest professional and ethical standards of integrity in winning the bid.

The committee added that they "have no further comment to add it on this issue and they are moving forward to host the historic tournament for the first time in the Middle East." Eckert announced the acquittal of both Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 of charges of corruption, stressing that there was no need for a revote.

The announcement came according to investigations conducted by US investigator Michael Garcia
