(MENAFNEditorial) Qatargas recently organized blood donation campaigns at its offices in Doha and Ras Laffan in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). Over one hundred Qatargas employees and contractor personnel donated blood during these campaigns.
A fully equipped mobile blood donation unit arrived from HMC along with a team of medical professionals. They were assisted by Qatargas Medical Center personnel.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Qatargas has been organizing blood donation campaigns at its premises over the past 14 years, in cooperation with HMC. Hundreds of Qatargas employees and contractors have donated blood during these campaigns.
Every year, the Company organizes four blood donation campaigns, two in Doha and two in Ras Laffan. In addition to helping the blood bank increase its supply of blood and blood components, Qatargas believes that such campaigns also help spread awareness in the society regarding the importance of voluntary blood donation.
In June this year, Qatargas received an award from the HMC in recognition of its ongoing support to the Corporations' blood donation drive – the third such award in four years. Qatargas was also the 'Platinum' sponsor of the 'World Blood Donor Day' celebration organized by Hamad Medical Corporation in June this year and in 2012.
