Justice Min. in Jeddah for Arab meetings


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea on Monday arrived in Jeddah to attend the 30th meeting of the Cabinet of Arab Ministers of Justice.

Al-Sanea will also attend the 55th meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministers of Justice, and a coordination meeting for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministers.

Upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Al-Sanea was welcomed by Saudi Minister of Justice Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa and Kuwait's General Consul in Jeddah and the country's Permanent Delegate to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Saleh Ali Al-Saqoubi.

The Kuwaiti Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior officials of the Ministry of Justice.

The 30th Arab ministerial meeting in the western Saudi city, November 17-20, will discuss issues on combating terrorism, on Arab and international levels. Countering corruption and enhancing Arab and international cooperation for restoring looted capital and property feature high on the meeting's agenda.

The Arab Justice Ministers will also review the first annual report on efforts to combat human trafficking in the Arab region. Other issues to be discussed include a host of proposed accords and protocols, the Arab guiding draft bills on drugs crimes, protecting intellectual property and rights of people with special needs.

The Cabinet of Arab Ministers of Justice previously approved some 25 guiding draft bills covering almost all legal fields, in a serious bid to unify Arab legislatives as a major target.
