Jordanian King heads to Japan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday flew to Japan for an official visit, during which he is to discuss with Japanese senior officials development of situations in the region, anti-terrorism efforts, and bilateral cooperation relations.

During his visit, King Abdullah II will meet with Emperor Akihito, Jordanian Royal Diwan said in a statement, adding that he will also discuss with Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe and senior officials prospects for boosting cooperation ties between the two countries, issues of joint interest, and current developments on regional and international arenas.

The Jordanian leader will also meet with parliamentary, economic, and intellectual leaderships in Tokyo in order to shed light on the Jordanian stand towards various regional and international issues, as well as to bolster bilateral cooperation ties in all fields.

King Abdullah's visit falls within his country's continued movement framework for consultation and coordination with international capitals of decision making regarding various developments and challenges in the Middle East region, particularly international efforts exerted to combat terrorism, attain peace, and strengthen international security and stability.
