Qatar, Morocco in talks to boost economic ties


(MENAFN) Qatar announced that they are currently in talks with Morocco to explore ways of enhancing their bilateral economic and business co-operation, as well as forging joint ventures in the private sector, Gulf Times reported.

Qatar said that the objective of these talk with Morocco is to drive forward private sector collaboration in addition to strengthening economic co-operation in a number of sectors including pharmaceuticals, consulting and financial advisory, agro-business, IT and cyber security, contracting, audio-visual production, furniture and interior design solutions.

"In light of the remarkable growth rates of both Morocco and Qatar these past few years, advancing economic ties between our two countries holds enormous potential and could translate in an array of mutually beneficial opportunities," The Moroccan Centre for Export Promotion managing director said.

These talks, which follow an agreement that was signed between Qatar and Morocco in regards to the sectors of sustainable development and agriculture, focused on the banking, real estate, and telecoms sectors in Morocco, since these sectors seem to be the most appealing to Qatari investors.
