Kuwaiti racer pulls out of third round of F1 int'l race


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Nov 16 (KUNA): The Kuwaiti boat racer Yusuf Al-Rubaiaan had to pull out of the third competition of Formula-1 international race that concluded in Qatar late on Saturday.

Al-Rubaiaan in the four rounds ranked fourth however he had to withdraw from the race after his boat overturned. He suffered no injuries in the accident.

'I was quite close to attaining the goal of being crowned among the first three winners but my hopes were dampened when the boat turned over' he said in remarks to KUNA.

Now he retains five points garnered in the second round that had been hosted by China. His boat had stopped due to mechanical failure in the first round held in Doha and he had to get out of that contest too.

Top ranks of yesterday's competition were won by Qatar first France second and Finland third.
