The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Monday that the attack took place late on Sunday in Khwajah Ghar district.
A statement released by MoI said at least six Taliban militants were killed and 12 others were injured after the Afghan police forces responded to the attack, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
The statement further added that the attack was launched on a check post belonging to Afghan Local Police (ALP) forces.
The MoI said Afghan security forces did not suffer any casualties during the clash.
